Relive the legend. DDZion was a group of young hardcore artists who performed as a DJ team (Damion and Damage), regularly playing at dance club Twilight near Rotterdam. From there, the idea to start producing together emerged. Initially, it was mainly to introduce new music during their sets, but the tracks became so popular that they soon found a production space with Reinout Doorakkers, aka Zion.Thus, DD Zion was born, and Blue Sky Day became their very first release on their own label. Despite interest from major record labels, they always stayed true to their own path. This independence is one of the reasons why Blue Sky Day is one of the most sought-after happy hardcore records from the 1990s. All the top DJs worldwide owned a copy, but distribution to record stores at the time was not optimal.
To this day, this record is highly valued and frequently appears on collectors’ wish lists for significant amounts of money.That’s why, after 30 years, we’re re-releasing this track digitally to share it with the world once again. The stubbornness of these artists, who are still active in the music industry, remains their defining trait.
